“For the Love of Horses and People”

The therapeutic riding and vaulting program at Karin’s Horse Connection enhances the lives of those with physical, social, educational or psychological challenges. By their nature, horses inspire confidence and strengthen the bodies, minds and spirits of those who need their support.

“My special-needs great-nephew, Nathan, has been taking weekly riding and vaulting lessons with Karin and Leoni for 18 years now, since the age of 5. Riding helped Nathan learn to walk. Over the years, it helped strengthen his muscles and helped rehab after various surgeries. Riding also gave him goals to work towards and provided a community outside the home where he had a sense of belonging. When he began participating at vaulting competitions, Nathan won ribbons for his accomplishments – a wonderful experience that raised his self-esteem! He was the first special needs individual to compete at a national vaulting competition, paving the way for others.

Through the years, I’ve seen Karin enhance the lives of children and adults affected by autism, chromosomal abnormalities, car accidents, developmental delays, emotional struggles, and many other difficult challenges. I will be eternally grateful for how she and her horses have helped Nathan and our whole family.” ~ Pat
